Using the power of football to educate and inspire young people across the UK
Help us Go Beyond
Help us Go Beyond
We exist to change the lives of young people. There are thousands of students who are passionate about football but disengaged at school.
We do this by providing long-term, intensive support, built around relationships and young people’s passions, in the classroom and beyond.
Education
Education
We work with a range of young people who love football, but face barriers to their learning. We adopt an asset-based approach centred around building positive relationships to transform young people’s behaviour and attitude to learning.
The FBB Schools programme is a long term intervention delivered in partnership with secondary schools across London, Kent, Essex and the North West of England. The programme is delivered to groups of up to 16 students, beginning in Year 8. The programme combines weekly two-hour sessions divided between one hour in the classroom and one hour on the football pitch alongside therapeutic interventions and half-termly reward visits.

Impact
We are now working with over 1000 young people across London, Essex, and the North West each week. We deliver a curriculum that uses football as a vehicle for change in a young person’s attitude to learning and behaviour for learning.
Our programme is focused on supporting young people to achieve meaningful, long term outcomes. This means we work to ensure that all our participants finish school with the GCSE grades and the social and emotional skills necessary to make a successful transition into adulthood. Everything we deliver – from the classroom and pitch curriculum to our parents’ evenings and reward visits – has been designed based on how it will contribute to achieving these meaningful outcomes.
Meet the FBB Fam
Meet the FBB Fam
We are a family first, and this shapes everything that we do. We pride ourselves on our relational working culture.
We aim to create an environment for our whole community to thrive, right the way from our youngest participants through to our co-directors. This is reflected in the number of former participants who now work for the organisation.
We know that our ability to create a change in the lives of young people can only be achieved if we have a motivated and skilled workforce to deliver our mission. We provide training pathways for all our staff with opportunities to upskill in the areas of counselling, teaching and coaching. We also have a thriving apprenticeship scheme and strive for congruence throughout the organisation. We exist to champion the youth and support their rise.
