New Cross Inn to host FA Cup fundraiser for FBB’s Women Beyond Borders!

Looking for somewhere lively to watch the FA Cup final on the 30th of May? Look no further! The New Cross Inn will be screening the F.A. Cup Final between Arsenal and Aston Villa, followed by an evening of top class music featuring 5 of the best indiepop/punk bands around – and throughout the day there’ll be fundraising going on for Football Beyond Borders! Look out for some exclusive Raffle prizes, including a special Arsenal themed one from FBB!

Make sure you sign up to the Facebook Event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1611309932416008/

Fundraising will be focused particularly on raising funds to support our Women Beyond Borders  programme, which we hope to expand in the near future so that girls at some of our #FBBSchools projects can also benefit from coaching.

Alex Wells, the assistant Events Manager at the New Cross Inn, is very excited about the event, saying: “Indie music and football are two of my biggest loves, and so it gives me great pleasure to combine the two and raise funds for a really exciting cause like Football Beyond Borders! People may think the independent spirit of alternative music doesn’t mix well with the big money aspects of modern football, but grassroots campaigns like FBB and their brilliant Women Beyond Borders project prove that the sport can be played by everyone, for the benefit of all.  With this gig we hope to get people more involved with their local music scene and football club – clearly two of the most important pillars of any community – whilst helping ensure that FBB can continue with all their good work!”
