Job Vacancy: Communications and Social Media Officer

We are hiring a new Communications and Social Media Officer to join our staff team! We have a growing multi-platform digital media presence but now need to operate in a more strategic manner to ensure sustainable growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an ambitious and innovative strategy at this exciting time. This post is offered in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation and Rank Time and provides a unique ‘ Time to shine ’ opportunity to develop our website and social media whilst supporting our young people in the development of their own digital media skills.

Key Responsibilities
1. Implement FBB’s digital and media strategy to raise the digital bar across the organisation
●  Ensure that all our digital activities work together effectively to create cohesive, youth-led experiences which are engaging, relevant and enhance the brand.
●  Lead on re-designing the website and improving our digital content on a weekly basis across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and the creation of a monthly newsletter
.●  Responsible for weekly planning and scheduling of social media posts, creating short form digital content and managing our social media accounts. This would include advertising our activities and documenting the impact of our work.
2. Support Project Lead in development of Young Leaders programme
●  Educate the young leaders in filming and editing techniques for short films
●  Support the young leaders in creation, promotion and syndication of digital content
●  Assist in the delivery of 2 hour educational sessions involving experts from organisations such as the BFI, Change.org and COPA 90.
3. Support Project Lead in the delivery of the Youth Council schemes
●  Support Project Leads in curriculum design by considering how digital-media may be used to promote proposed projects.
●  Support the young people in using digital-media to deliver their projects.
●  Advertise and promote individual achievements and project success on web-site and relevant social media outlets.
