It has been a truly amazing year for FBB TV, and we couldn’t have done it with all our fantastic staff, supporters, volunteers, young presenters, the footballers and all the other talent who supported us on both sides of the camera. It started with an idea and a stellar crowd funding effort to raise £7000 and ended with FBB TV content gathering over 600,000 video views across FBB and partners’ channels.
Our video output has been a mixture of Football Beyond Borders events and initiatives, as well as exclusive youth-led interviews with some of the biggest names in the game, including Gary Neville, Yaya Toure, Branislav Ivanovic, Yannick Bolasie, Santi Cazorla and Ramires. Our fresh take on footballer interviews has been key to driving the views and engagement through the year.
While our YouTube channel is the main home for the content, we have also used video to grow and engage our networks across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat with full-length videos, sneak peeks and viral hits. This multi-platform approach has been, and will be key to FBB TV’s continued growth in 2016.
We have also cemented a number of high profile working relationships and networks, which has seen our content feature (both on social and websites, natively and embedded from YouTube) on the BBC, Sky Sports, The Guardian, Copa90, Daily Mirror, Evening Standard, Chelsea FC, Bleacher Report and many more places.
As well as being a successful year, it has also been a hugely enjoyable one, giving our young people (and staff!) opportunities and experiences that will live with them for the rest of their lives. But we feel this is only the beginning for our important video project. As well as telling more stories over the coming year, we want to continue working with and training our talented young participants so they can tell their own stories to the world. Keep it locked for 2016!
