FBB Supporter raises £210 for FBB projects through charity match

“We managed to raise over £200 in 90 minutes, whilst having a laugh with our mates – it really is as easy as that.”

Our thanks go out to FBB Supporter Seymour Mills, who recently organized a brilliant 11-a-side fundraising match, raising £210 for Football Beyond Borders!

Seymour’s XI were 3-0 up at half time, with goals from Ali Mc Donald, Adam Donovan and Paul Barnes. Paul added another early in the second half to give Seymour’s team a commanding 4-0 lead, before Alan’s XI got back into the game late on, scoring two goals in quick succession towards the end of the game, with goalscoring contributions firstly from Bird (Alex Arthur) and secondly from what can only be described as a bit of a goalkeeping clanger. Notwithstanding this late fightback, it was Seymour’s XI who emerged victorious, with a final score of 4-2.

After the match, Paul explained the attraction of getting involved with FBB fundraising: “I was keen to get involved and help fundraise for FBB because I could immediately see the positive impact that the work of the charity has, not only on the lives of the young people directly involved, but also on those indirectly helped by FBB’s work, including other pupils in the schools FBB visits and the wider community. We managed to raise over £200 in 90 minutes, whilst having a laugh with our mates. It really is as easy as that!.”

Special thanks goes  to all those involved, in particular Paul Barnes & Alan Haugh for helping organise the match, and all at Rotherfield FC, whose manager Pete Ford kindly gave us the pitch for free and in addition refereed the match. Thank you for your continued support!
