FBB Quizzes: Forward the Hamlet test fans’ knowledge

What links Simone Inzaghi, Marco van Basten, Luiz Adriano and Dado Prso? Raising £350 for FBB through a football pub quiz!

Forward the Hamlet, Dulwich Hamlet FC’s very own podcasters, recently tested over 75 football fans’ knowledge in a quiz that had everything from obscure 90’s footballers to Northern Irishmen plying their trade as managers in Central Eastern Africa – all to raise funds for FBB.

Forward the Hamlet and Dulwich Hamlet Supporter's Trust helped raise £350 for the FBB Schools programme.

Podcast presenters Ben Sibley and Hugo Greenhalgh played question-masters in the latest FBB football pub quiz, which is becoming a regular fixture across London.

Ben said: “We’re delighted with the amount raised and at one point wondered whether or not everyone would fit in the venue!

“It was a great night and judging by the celebrations of the winning team, we reckon we got the difficulty of the questions just right! Our thanks to FBB for asking us to host, and to everyone who came and helped raise money for an incredible organisation.”

Tom Perez, FBB’s Head of Communications, said: “We have once again been amazed by the generosity of the Dulwich fans – whether it was the people who organised, hosted or participated – everyone contributed to making it a brilliant evening.”

Ctrl Alt De Laet and Love in the time of Kolarov may take the plaudits for some epic team names, but none could rival Schluppy Seconds for football knowledge as they took first prize – matchday sponsorship at a DHFC game – including hospitality in the boardroom with a buffet and post-match drinks!

Don’t think you could name the first player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League? Well neither could any of our teams – but that didn’t stop them entering the prize-ridden raffle which included DHFC season tickets, player sponsorship and matchday tickets – all donated by the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust.

Tom added: “The £350 raised is a brilliant figure and shows that FBB Quizzes are a fun and exciting way to raise funds for us – so, if you’re an FBB supporter and you’ve got some great footy knowledge, why not organise your own quiz? We can provide the questions and advice on how to set one up – so please do get in touch if you’re keen!”

Fans at Clapton FC and Colney Heath FC have both also recently hosted an #FBBFootballQuiz, raising £250 each for FBB in the process!
