Brighton Marathon 2019: Are you FBB enough?

Football Beyond Borders (FBB) have announced 6 confirmed places for the 2019 Brighton Marathon, taking place on the 15th of April 2019.

This year, in front of a sea of spectators, FIVE supporters ran the marathon in aid of organisation. For Ben Barker, who raised over £1000 for FBB,  although a “tough” challenge, it was “an incredible personal experience”.

The ninth edition of what has now become one of the highlights of the UK marathon season was watched by thousands who lined up from Preston Park to the seafront. Among them were FBB young people and staff eagerly cheering on all the 5 strong running team and other participants.

“I’ve been amazed by the commitment of those runners who have achieved an astounding feat for themselves, as well as going above and beyond to fundraise for FBB” said FBB’s Rebekah Keane.

“Every step in training and out on race day is a testament to how much they believe in FBB’s mission. The money raised goes a long way to support our young people on their journey with FBB. If we’re going to create a more inclusive society, particularly for our youth, we have to each give a little of ourselves for the others that we live side by side with – running for a charity is an amazing physical demonstration of this.”

How do I sign up to run for FBB in the 2019 Brighton Marathon?

The easiest way to sign up is to contact Fundraising Coordinator Rebekah Keane – rkeane@footballbeyondborders.org. FBB ask runners make a fundraising commitment of £800-£1000. All runners will receive an FBB jersey for the marathon, and of course there will be celebrations at the end of the race.
