FBB is proud to announce that we will have nine runners participating in the Big Half Marathon on our behalf this weekend. Most of the runners have been training for this moment for the past couple of months and we are extremely grateful for their efforts. Read their stories below, and if you are feeling generous do donate to our cause. The money raised will pay towards our Easter holiday provision and ensure that 15 young people can participate.

Reason for running: I’ve been with FBB for just under a year now. The work that we do with our young people is of vital importance. Within this I see how sometimes we have to make tough choices about where to work, I wish this wasn’t the case. This is why I’m running the big half. Generating unrestricted funds for FBB will take us to the next level in our decision-making and ensure that the young people are always at the heart of what we do.
On a personal note, I really wanted to take on the challenge to see how far I can push my body. About 4 years ago I started a journey to reconnect with my physicality – it started out as a desire to knock my weight done but ended up transforming my lifestyle and shaping the person I am today.
Greatest fear for the run: That I won’t make it the whole way!! Juggling work and training has been a real challenge. Hopefully, I will be able to run the entire race – I’m determined not to walk for as long as possible!!

Reason for running: Was invited to the FBB ‘Football For All’ event. This was the first I’d heard of FBB and love the programme. An excellent, challenging, educational programme for those passionate about sport. It provides a fantastic platform for their growth. Now doing my bit to support. Also preparation for the Paris Marathon 2018.
Greatest fear for the run: Muscle injury
